PhD Fellowships

Impact RHD Program has offered financial support to 9 Ugandan students for four year PhD fellowships.

RHD continues to have a devastating impact on vulnerable communities in sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, South-East Asia and the Western Pacific, affecting 40 million people and claiming more than 300,000 lives every year.

The IMPACT program offers PhD opportunities and Masters research support to eligible students from partner institutions 

The goal of the program is to equip and nurture emerging research leaders and professional scholars in Uganda to generate high-quality contemporary evidence on rheumatic heart disease (RHD) across the lifespan and to create an enduring research training center on the African continent that will rapidly advance progress towards the elimination of the disease in a generation.
