Dr. Ndungutse holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) as well as a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine, both earned from Makerere University. During his tenure as a Medical Officer and Adult Cardiology Fellow at the Uganda Heart Institute, he served as a pivotal liaison between patients, specialty teams, and faculty across clinical stations. Under the Impact Program fellowship, his research project was titled “Detection of paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation among Rheumatic Heart Disease registry patients of the Uganda Heart Institute.” The study was focused on identifying subclinical or intermittent atrial fibrillation in patients living with RHD, and was designed to provide critical data enabling early clinical intervention to prevent life-threatening strokes among this vulnerable population.

Personal Interests

Outside of his clinical and academic endeavors, Dr. Ndungutse enjoys playing basketball and chess, watching sports and movies, traveling, listening to music, and reading novels.
