Dr. Joselyn Rwebembera

Dr. Rwebembera holds a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). She is currently working as an adult cardiologist at the Uganda Heart Institute. Here, she is involved in the management of cardiovascular diseases among adults. Under the Impact Program, she is going to assess the contemporary diagnosis and management of Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Expectations from this research are: early post-publishing assessment of the performance of the global echo diagnostic criteria for RHD and generation of implementation data to inform best strategies for secondary prevention of RHD, the most viable global control strategy for the disease. Academics and work aside, Rwebembera enjoys literature (real-life and interesting fiction) and spending time with family.
