Dr. Nakiganda holds a Master of Public Health of New York University and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery of Mbarara University of Science and Technology. Currently, she is enrolled as a Senior House Officer at Makerere University’s Internal Medicine Program. As a resident on this program, she performs highly specialized medical procedures; supervises medical officers, interns and nurses; does clinical teaching of medical students; participates in medical research and participates in inpatient and outpatient care which involves diagnosis and management of patients at various specialized units at Mulago and Kirrudu National Referral Hospitals.
Her research interests include non-communicable diseases and healthcare implementation research at clinical and public health level. On the Impact Program, Dr. Nakiganda will conduct a study titled, ‘Social Economic and clinical determinants of Rheumatic Heart Disease Outcomes at Discharge and 30 days after Discharge at UHI and Mulago National Referral.’
In her leisure time, she enjoys watching comedy, reading books, traveling and experimenting with various cuisines.
